The World Becomes What We Teach

I spent my Saturday at a Humane Education Workshop called:   "The World Becomes What We Teach", presented by Zoe Weil and hosted by The Detroit Zoo.  I have to say it was incredible,  I learned so much and it has opened my eyes about the way I think.
I will be using what I learned to help me develop my own workshop/eclass/eBook and/or maybe some type of app.
This is the book we were given and I am looking forward to reading it.
The Power and Promise of Humane Education

I even was able to get Zoe to autograph it for me.

It was great to meet so many nice, caring people (mostly teachers, so I know that the future is in good hands).  I learned a lot, and as I said my thought process has been transformed so I will be thinking more critically in the future.
Thank you Zoe Weil for all you do and thank you Detroit Zoo for hosting such a fantastic workshop.

For me Humane Ed will change the world one person at a time.

Katrina 10 Years Gone

Brick at Little Shelter Animal Rescue & Adoption Center

After Katrina and seeing all the news coverage of the devastation and dislocation I wanted to do something - anything to help.  So I was thrilled when  my friend, and co-worker asked if I'd be interested in going to Mississippi to volunteer with the animal rescue efforts.  I'm in, just tell me where and when. Hey, I'm a First Responder and this is what I do.
HSUS (Humane Society of the United States) had organized the operation in Hattiesburg, MS.  So we mapped out our route and  packed our bags.  Our co-workers took up a collection to pay for our gas, etc and some even bought supplies to bring to the people down there.  We packed up the pick up truck, (and honestly we couldn't have fit one more thing in) and we were off.
The greatest adventure of my life.

Buy Me a Truck

Money-Money-Money!!!

The time has come for the Professor to go from two vehicles to just one.  I know I want a crew cab pickup, but which one?  Ford F-150 or Chevy Colorado???  Decisions, decisions.

Thoughts and comments???
